A. Jurgens is the dark country project of Adolf Jurgens, a singer-songwriter born in São Paulo, Brazil, and raised by gaúchos: the last ten of his Brazilian years were lived in Porto Alegre, deep in the south, where campfire music and American country share the same dust.

In 2015 he crossed the ocean to Berlin. Years of northern winters, smoky bars and late nights sharpened the songs and dropped the voice a shade darker. Somewhere between the old world and the new one, the sound found its name: dark country. Murder ballads, love songs for dirt roads and blues for the scars in between.

The first single, Too Late, arrived in 2021, with producer Renato Osorio behind every song since. The Supernova EP followed in 2023. Muddy Boots came next, a full-moon Tennessee tale of betrayal and revenge, then Dirt Road, its brighter twin about love on the long way home. In 2024 the songs were captured the way they are meant to be heard: live, in one room, in one night, on the album and DVD Live at Black Stork Studio. The singles Lilies, Scars and Coward followed in 2025.

Today he lives on the Algarve coast of Portugal, writing new songs and playing live every week, sets that run from whisper-quiet originals to the songs that get the whole bar on its feet.
